Set in a dystopian city crippled by a 20-year drought, this wickedly satirical musical explores a world where private toilets are banned and citizens must pay to pee in public amenities controlled by a corrupt, profit-driven megacorporation. When a hero decides he has had enough and leads a populist revolution, musical theatre conventions are hilariously skewered. Jonathan Slinger anchored the West End production as Officer Lockstock, serving as both the menacing enforcer of the law and the fourth-wall-breaking, cynical narrator of the story.

I played Officer Lockstock in a production of the musical URINETOWN, directed by Jamie Lloyd in the West End in 2014-15.

This was the first musical of my professional career and and the hardest thing was the multi-tasking of acting, singing and dancing at the same time. I was playing a character who was a narrator and starts the play. Therefore on top of working out how to play individual scenes, it was important to decide what precipitates my character to start the story in the first place. This was a great acting exercise in itself as there are many characters for whom we may need to make the same decision. It is especially important for doing monologues in an audition.

I can help you make the right acting choices in situations like this. I can also help with voice production, which is as important for acting as it is for singing.
